David Whelan is the Director of the San Diego Law Library.  At the time of recording, he was the Director, Legal Information and the Great Library, where he worked to improve information access at the Law Society of Ontario. Prior to joining the Law Society, David ran a membership law library, was director of the American Bar Association's Legal Technology Resource Center, and managed technology at a U.S. law school. He has a J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and an M.L.S. from the University of North Texas.

Phil Brown is Senior Counsel, Practice Management at the Law Society of Ontario. Phil provides guidance to lawyers and paralegals through the Practice Management Helpline on their professional obligations relating to legal technology, and answers questions regarding the Law Society’s rules of professional conduct and by-laws. Phil also regularly speaks on ethical issues relating to technology through various legal associations and continuing professional development providers. Phil has also spoken on several occasions at the ABA TECHSHOW Conference in the United States. Phil graduated from Dalhousie University with a B.Sc. (Hon) and an LLB.
